Summer Discovery’s UC Berkeley program offers high school students an immersive, academy-style learning experience that blends hands-on activities, group projects, and real-world applications, allowing them to come out of the program with a solid understanding and knowledge base that will serve them well in college and beyond.
From the highly selective M.E.T. Innovation Academy run by UC Berkeley's College of Enginnering and Haas Business school, to Summer Discovery programs in Psychiatry and Neuroscience, Research in Medicine, or Engineering and Robotics, students explore fields that ignite their passions and build a foundation for future careers. The Emergency Medicine and Health Sciences Academy, for example, offers students a direct, tactile opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the daily responsibilities of emergency healthcare professionals, including dissections and site visits to local hospitals.
All courses are taught by passionate and accredited instructors in their field of study with students benefiting from exposure to eminent professors and researchers and a culture driven by technology and innovation and the influence of industry leaders from the Bay Area’s dynamic start-ups and corporate giants. Summer Discovery students at UC Berkeley have the unique opportunity to experience firsthand the university’s academic prestige with unparalleled access to labs, maker spaces, and other resources.
At the conclusion of the program, students receive a resumé-boosting Certificate of Completion and a letter of recognition for each course taken.
